Vividion Therapeutics
Research Intern, Pharmacology
San Diego, CA - Internship
Company Overview:
Vividion is a next generation biotechnology company based in San Diego that is leveraging its proprietary chemical proteomics platform to conduct proteome-wide footprinting of drug-protein interactions with unprecedented breadth and precision. Our technology allows us to screen, identify and optimize novel drugs that selectively bind virtually any protein, including proteins previously considered undruggable. Our pipeline and emerging programs reflect a matured and productive platform capable of delivering first in class drugs utilizing novel mechanisms of action (allosteric inhibitors, protein-protein interaction inhibitors, functional activators, degraders etc.) against undruggable targets in the oncology and immunology space. We are uniquely structured with opportunities for all scientists to contribute to both established programs as well as ongoing early target selection, screens and validation. We prize scientific excellence, creativity, team players and we are committed to continued innovation. We have worked hard to create a collaborative and dynamic work culture where your ideas and discoveries are valued and will have an impact. We are growing and there are opportunities for mentorship and career progression.
The Research Internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn discovery of novel therapeutics to treat oncology and immune mediated human diseases. All interns will be asked to give an end-of-summer presentation on their experience, learnings, and findings in front of peers and select Vividion scientists.
Responsibilities:
Conduct Pharmacology studies by administering small molecule compounds to mice via the following routes: PO, SC (occasionally IP) and evaluate the effects on immune/tumor biology
Assist in in vitro model development using primary cell cultures and techniques such as ELISA, qPCR, flow cytometry etc.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology, immunology, biomedical engineering, or related field
Incoming Sophomore, Junior, or Senior for '23-'24 school year
Experience with mouse handling, dosing and lab bench work preferred
Required to cover dosing both mornings and evenings as per availability
Plan and communicate availability at least 2 weeks in advance
Work Hours:
Summer months (June, July, August) - between 16 to 25 hours per week
Interns may be offered an extended internship term for part time hours during an academic semester at reduced hours/week
Pay rate:
Rising sophomore: $20.00/hr
Rising Junior: $21.00/hr
Rising Senior: $22.00/hr
